Microscopes

We have also newly added microscopes to our offer. Thanks to our long-term cooperation with the German producer KERN & Sohn, we can offer you the complete range of this well-established company.

We offer monocular, binocular and trinocular microscopes with the possibility of connecting a camera. KERN offers both basic microscopes suitable for schools and professional instruments for demanding applications in laboratories, healthcare and industry.

If you are not sure which microscope you need, here is a brief breakdown of the instruments we offer:

  • compound light microscopes - probably the most well-known microscopes, they use transmitted white light. The sample to be observed must be thin and transparent (section). They are mainly used in biology and health care.
  • stereomicroscopes - use the falling and possibly transmitting light. They work with lower magnification than the previous categories. Due to the separate optical path for each eye, the result is a 3D image (they allow the perception of depth/thickness). Use in biology, but also in electrical engineering ( printed circuits, components) or jewellery.
  • microscopes for metallurgy (metallographic) - use the falling light to observe non transparent slides. They can be used in industrial applications to analyse the structure of metals and check the quality of surfaces.
  • polarizing microscopes - use polarized light. For the examination of optically anisotropic substances, in which there is a so-called birefringence of light. They are mainly used in mineralogy.
