Carbon monoxide (CO) concentration gauges and measuring instruments are used to measure the air in the workplace, to check heating devices, fireplaces and gas boilers. Carbon monoxide measuring instruments are also used in maintenance work in boiler rooms and tunnels as well as in the event of fires in the work of fire brigades.

Carbon monoxide is most often produced by imperfect combustion. It is dangerous to human health even at low concentrations. The characteristics of the gas also complicate the situation. Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless gas and is lighter than air.
