Our laboratory performs calibration of piston pipettes and other piston measuring devices of all available brands. We calibrate pipettes with fixed volume and adjustable volume, single-channel and multi-channel pipettes, mechanically operated and electronic pipettes.
We also calibrate burettes and dispensers. Calibration is performed by gravimetric method according to calibration procedure KP-05 based on ČSN EN ISO 8655-6.

If the customer does not wish otherwise, we perform an evaluation of the maximum permissible error according to the relevant part of the standard ČSN EN ISO 8655 and if the pipette does not meet the standard, we can, at the customer's request, adjust the pipette to the correct volume (if the pipette design allows it).

Why perform accredited calibration?

Our laboratory is accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation - Certificate of Accreditation

Regular calibration according to an accredited procedure will ensure reliable and accurate measurement of the pipette. Observing regular calibration at the specified time interval is very important. This interval must be determined according to the frequency of use of the pipette but is often determined by internal regulations.

Compliance with regulations - The calibration of pipettes is often a requirement of the internal rules and regulations of companies and institutions. Correct measurement and observance of metrological procedures is a precondition for positive results.

Suitable laboratory conditions

We meet the strict laboratory conditions required for maximum measurement accuracy. The laboratory is maintained at a constant temperature with minimal airflow to ensure stable measurement conditions. Thanks to the "moisture trap" included in the standard scale, evaporation of the dosed liquid is minimized. The laboratory tables are equipped with a granite top to prevent unwanted shocks and vibrations.

For measurements, we use suitable standard scales Sartorius MSA 6.6S-000DM (0.001 mg readability) and Sartorius CPA225D-OCE (0.01 / 0.1 mg readability).

Calibration including issue of a calibration certificate

We will issue you a calibration certificate with the measurement results, including the relevant measurement uncertainties and a statement of conformity with the maximum permissible error according to EN ISO 8655, if it is needed.

The calibration includes cleaning, leak check, lubrication and overall check of the pipette functionality.

Please send pipettes for calibration cleaned, with a filled out decontamination protocol and the appropriate amount of tips which you use. Otherwise, we will perform the calibration with Eppendorf or Sartorius tips.
