Thanks to high-quality climate chambers, we are able to simulate environments with relative humidity from 20 to 90%. In the case of analogue hygrometers, we revitalise the hygrometer by placing it in a high relative humidity environment before calibration. If the hygrometer measures inaccurately and its design allows it, we can adjust it to the correct values at the customer's request.

Why calibrate hygrometers?

Reliable measurement

Regular calibration of the hygrometer ensures reliable and accurate measurements. The accuracy of the measurement is affected by the environment in which it is located, the frequency with which the gauge is used and other criteria. Therefore, it is necessary to recalibrate the hygrometer after a certain period of time to eliminate inaccurate measurements. The time interval for calibration can be determined by the internal regulations of the company, the frequency of use of the gauge and also with respect to the environment in which the gauge is located.

We are accredited

Our laboratory is accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation - Certificate of Accreditation. Only an accredited calibration laboratory can guarantee that the measured values correspond to reality within the stated uncertainties. Even with a newly purchased hygrometer, it cannot be guaranteed that the gauge is working correctly. Often the reason is an inappropriate production process or the use of an unsuitable reference standard.

Which hygrometers we calibrate.

• analogue hygrometers - These are simple hygrometers, the measurement of which is based on the principle of fibres that elongate due to humidity. The measured values are then displayed by a needle pointer directly on the scale. These hygrometers are very popular due to their simplicity and ease of use.
• digital hygrometers - They are very popular and widespread. They are usually designed together with a thermometer and include additional functions such as dew point measurement. They are commonly used in households but also in factories to measure the humidity in a room.
• digital hygrometers with external sensor - These hygrometers can measure relative humidity using one or more sensors. The sensors are connected to the main display unit via a cable, but wireless transmission is also common. This makes it possible to measure humidity even in inaccessible places or in places where you do not want to disturb the homogeneity of the measured field. In households, they are often part of weather stations.
• other special hygrometers - We can also handle specific types of hygrometers that are used, for example, in production or in operation.

Calibration of hygrometers can be done directly in our calibration laboratory. However, most often we perform calibration directly at the customer's site anywhere in the Czech Republic.
