Stainless steel penetration GSM thermometers

GSM thermometers with a long stainless steel tip display the temperature online in Comet cloud
The client is engaged in the purchase and processing of wood, which is then supplied as biomass and wood chips to heating plants and power plants in the Czech Republic. For the client, we produced long puncture thermometers made of stainless steel with temperature measurement and transfer to an online storage.
The client required:
- A durable design for demanding use in outdoor environments.
- Increased water resistance with IP65 protection.
- Data transfer via SIM card in GSM mode. The customer did not have WiFi or other connectivity available on the premises.
- Display of current and archived values in a clear system.
- Remote support of the system for data evaluation.
Solution:
For measurement and data transfer, we used the GSM datalogger U0141G with 4G network support. Thanks to four input channels, the datalogger measures the temperature at two levels of the puncture part. It then measures the ambient temperature using a spatial sensor. This allows us to compare the temperature development in the material with the temperature of the outside environment.
We have produced long stainless steel probes with a puncture tip. Hard stainless steel ensures strength and durability. The probe can be inserted into a great depth of biomass. The device itself is mounted in a stainless steel cradle, which protects the device from mechanical damage thanks to the overlap.
The device contains a data SIM card, which the customer can provide, or it is possible to supply a data SIM card with pre-loaded data and a lifespan of up to 10 years. The measured data is transmitted via a GSM signal, similar to a mobile phone. The evaluation of the measured data is then provided by Comet cloud provided by the manufacturer Comet system.
