Installation of Kern floor scales for Charles University
KALIST AKL delivered and installed a Kern BID 1T-4D floor scale with a capacity of up to 1,500 kg for Charles University. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics – Department of Low Temperature Physics approached us with a request to supply and install a floor scale designed for the precise weighing of heavy bundles of gas cylinders in a helium storage facility.

The Kern BID 1T-4D floor scale is a dual-range scale with a maximum capacity of up to 1500 kg, which automatically switches between the individual weighing ranges. This offers higher resolution and accuracy when weighing both lighter and heavier loads. The scale is equipped with a solid steel weighing platform measuring 1200 × 1500 mm, which ensures stability and safe storage of weighed items.
The device includes a clear, easy-to-read LCD indicator and the option to connect to other devices via communication interfaces. The scale is designed for long life, resistance to mechanical stress, and operation even in technically demanding conditions.
Installation and commissioning
Kalist provided a complete solution – from initial consultation and selection of the appropriate type of scale, through professional installation, to commissioning of the device. Emphasis was placed on the correct placement of the scale in the warehouse and on trouble-free functionality in real operation.
